HSS Urgent Ortho Care
HSS provides access to immediate orthopedic care for sudden injuries and severe pain. These are the types of problems that could otherwise require a visit to a hospital. Urgent orthopedic care is provided by expert HSS doctors and clinicians and is offered through in-person or virtual options.
For emergencies (e.g. the bone has broken through the skin), please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency care location
In-Person Urgent Orthopedic Care
Conditions treated include:
- bone, tendon, muscle or joint injuries that has occurred within the prior few days
- possible tendon ruptures
- possible broken bones
- sudden severe pain in the neck or back that is causing you to have trouble moving that has occurred within the prior few days.
HSS offers same day or next day in-person appointments in New York City and Florida.

To participate in a virtual visit, patients must:
- Be 18 years or older
- Be physically present in New Jersey, New York or Connecticut at the time of the visit
- Have an appropriate device and be in a quiet location with WiFi
